I know it's another Thread with more promises but.... I have several tracks chosen within my game that I have updated etc that I could share but only with a small amout of work to alter tracks beyond what the brilliant creaters had done before I downloaded tracks so thank you to them. Some of these are a real challenge and good variety of track shapes for a Fairgounds setting and may re-introduce with trimming files of others Fairground already made I'll see. The first I hope to get to you all will be...Iowa State Fair closed recently sad but I am trying to replicate the whole thing but not the long paper clip. Instead I do have a track found many years ago, fixed some and some more. Crowd was n't the real issue although Stadium lights I might deal to. I will show you what I have built to this Dtr2 Knoxville track with unique editing from orig editor and I will mention that once track is done but it did require a lot of Alpha fixing to really bring out this track. It will be a fun track to race and approx guess it would have to be a Mile. Was going to use this track for Springfield but as great as it looks (pleasant atmosphere background) it just didn't cut it. Hope it won't take a lot to sort out crowds and seating. Lights?
Thank you both.. Much appreciated. Takes a lot to get motivated these days but urgency is needed for this one. But it's my B'Day today so will have a day off.... Maybe tomorrow who knows and all I need to do is place each light near a pole which should take me...???? Anyway what we have so far is near complete. Here's some pics and no doubt you will be able to tell which track I am working on.
Yes it's a square track. Your eyes don't deceive you. Look forward to this.
And no, this track I don't believe was a square track big yes but because the track is no longer a Speedway I thought why not.
Iowa State Fair 1 mile clay surface 0 banking ex Knoxville2 edit, added lights Peps trees Scoreboard and Traffic Lights front and back straights only but I failed to add signage down back straight (There's an audience there) . Hopefully all will see this as a fair representation of the original fairgrounds bar the shape of track....
A big thanks to Stockcarfan for his Holding Point Speedway. Added the Alpha back etc plus size of Stands on front straight. You may find a bit of a lump on turn 1 and if the berm is encroached too much a black flag is possible so please be fair with your criticism.. I'm watching you....
Does that mean you like it...??? Syracuse now there's a track. It is flat and a 3/4 mile right?? Paper clip. I know the NY track is Ratbags version of and I have simply rename mine to Syracuse but in str file i have as NY State Fair. The stands do need a bit of an upgrade. Iowa State Fair has the stands all in Brick so felt it was a track we needed in game similar to Springfield Mile. I have Dakota Fair and Indiana Fair as well as Springfield (Illinois State Fair so I will see about upgrading Syracuse Darren. But I can agree with you seeing the NY State track in this one. I think I made the stands too high
Correct and sad it's yet another Fairgrounds that been destroyed for the sake of Apartments and Malls...,but.., the NY track by Ratbag I was referring to is 3/4 mile sadly and didn't mean to confuse you or anyone. To get a track this size as I have said the Springfield track I've begun sorting out should do as I believe both are of same size and are both flat tracks and a Mile approx. The only other one to be different is Dubuque Fairgrounds IA 1 mile too but Syracuse will be simple to make based on the very track that I have already got and Iowa State Fair isn't suitable being Knoxville but Terrehaute is better...,as the Stands are the same but it'll need some adjustments in stands height so... I may do a new Syracuse later on. Perhaps the Ratbag one will get shelved. Thanks for that Darren. Springfield should be next.., but I'll wait and see.
There was a Syracuse track that was made but it worked online only I don't have it but it would be nice to have one that works offline if you got this track please post it I asked Ray to fix the ai but he didn't
Are you referring to a fixed NY Track used for Syracuse in game...? I do have one that I've tinkered with in keeping with original track in DTR-AU DTR-SC as well. Forget who I got it from. Must check and get back to you. It has a viscous def texture. This one was done in a different way so can't recall how. Told you I'm gettin too old.
Springfield I'm sorting but.... not sure if I'd say it suits Syracuse.... Once I've sorted it's textures and some De2 incl inner Armco re positioning is done then yeah... I will release it but only then. Was hoping Shock might tackle the Springfield Track even if it's from me sorting the Stadium plus some Alpha be a whole lot better than what it is right now. It runs good so I have a long track but....might be a little bit more than a Mile (Paperclip) though. So many projects.
Okay this is for all whop didn't get a working NY Track.
It's not quite the right track for Syracuse but then the way things are, I will simply hand you this and please enjoy the edit I have done not to mention the team who originally did something unique to it and got it to work without excessive deft texture drops. Thank you to them whom I can't remember as I have no reference unlike other tracks to say who it was. This is not the track I would hope to put out and maybe I will do Syracuse, I may not. Just enjoy it.
That is teamwork... Thank you. Just needed the opposite than that of DTR-SC williams_grove which needed bringing inward instead to keep the Back gound steady. where as NY had the opposite. Perhaps we needed that on the Dam Track.
For everybody that is grabbing the Fig 8 version just do same and rename De2 to that of what it was stated in order to fix that sky. Or use the export and import feature in DE2.
Thunderbird...? I don't have the proper files for this DTR2 track if that is the one you mean. Instead I looked for another track which may have had sky taken from the one you say and I applied it and it works so..... Will get back to you but in another thread prob New Off-road Tracks dunno. But thanks for the disturbance Demonic. Let's finish this.
