National Weather Service just said we hav'nt had weather like this since 1936..When we had the "Dust Bowl"

Our Corn is Bleeped!!!! 50 acres of NOTHING!!!! losing 20-30% of our crops right now. If this keeps up (they are saying it will until September) we will lose at least 30% of our yeild if not the whole thing!!!! WOW!!!! It's really not the heat, it's the fact we havn't had any rain at all since early March. With 1.9 inches since March 1st peoples yards are crispy, NOT MINE, It's costing over $200 per month to keep my yard green. Couple of my friends @ Purdue are saying this is probably going to be the worst Growing season EVER for crops. All we really need is a couple inches of standing rain. Right now any sprinkle we get is gone within 20 minutes. I know alot of you are like whatever, it's just hot, but this part of Indiana is very dependent on crops, and if the crops get wiped out (which is looking likely) this will be a VERY BIG impact on Indiana's economy...not to mention, instead of using the $3 million machines, we are going to pull out the weed wackers, shut down the silos, and the animals are going to go hungry. This COULD BE the WORST DISASTER EVER!!! (for crops)

Yeah JSN its that way all over the country right now. We need rain, rain, and more rain! When it sprinkles like that is basically boiling away and killing the crops as well. I hope for you and the farming industry that we get some rain all over and SOON!

90, feels like 90. Had big wind event yesterday afternoon with rain. The temp went from 92 - 69 in a matter of minutes.

MUST BE NICE. 98* here with feels like 107* AND RISING. same forcast for tomorrow also, WITH NO RAIN!!!! Humidity is steadily rising and I'M FREAKIN HOTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!! got the ac on 68 and it's 76 in the house and rising. Bad thing is, furnace/ac is only a year old. I just checked the freon level and it's perfect. just so hot it can't cool down. record is 108* for hottest ever here. Weather people are saying that's gonna be broken today and tomorrow and maybe even the next day. Got the news today that if we don't get any rain (at least 3 inches) within the next 2 weeks then we have to mow down the corn, plant some more and HOPE it comes in. As of right now I am hearing that a couple of my dad's farmer buddies are going to lose it all (soy beans, feed corn, wheat, and everybodies sweet corn is toast) and they said there is NO WAY they can grow this late in the season, and they said we are crazy if we try. WIERD!!!! NO RAIN+NO CROPS=NO MONEY!!!! Government gonna be payin out some big bucks!!!! THANK GOD FOR INSURANCE!!!! Never thought we'd be using it for a drought, maybe a flood,but not a drought.

My uncle lives in a neighborhood in Florida (The Villages) to where you have to have a certain kind of grass and it HAS to stay green or you get a fine or evicted lol. Bad thing is the grass (bermuda) needs LOTS of water and is untolerable to heat. I would NEVER live in that kind of neighborhood!!!!!! I'd rather live in the ghetto with no grass, and I absolutely LOVE my yard!!!

That's tragic Jason. I think you will get a cool down next week. If it's gonna be 74 here it can't be too much hotter there, hopefully you get some rain and some colder weather. We broke our all time record high last week. The record was only 101 but it got to 103. Fortunately the humidity was only in the 20's which is really low for us. They said on the news last night we could get 3 inches of rain between Mon-Wednesday...hope so

They are sayin rain on SAT, but everytime they forcast it, it dissipates before getting here. Seems as if the weather is at a standstill here. 100*s with no rain and mid to high humidity. If we do get some I think we might be in for a storm. They are saying we will get to low 80s sometime next week,but the rain is what we really need. It could get down to the 30s but if we don't get rain, it might as well stay 100* Might be going south to cool off LMFAO!!!! hooda thought!!!
