Every time I try to launch the game it says "There was an error while trying to start Direct3D8 on your video card". Anyone else ever had this error? How did you fix it? I'm on Windows 8.1...I have played the game before on this computer but now all of a sudden it wont let me.
Thanks Corey

OK I think I figured this out. It is probable that you are using an HDMi cord into your monitor. Try using the blue vga cord instead.

one alternative is to make sure in the display options of your render.str file, which is in your data folder, that stored width and height is 1280 and 720 like so

stored width = 1280
stored height = 720
stored colour depth = 32

this works for me on w10 and this info came from the forums here.

Cheers
