February 26, 2019 (ELIDA, OH) – Hayden Cardwell reaffirmed his dominance after a brief two weeks of not being in victory lane. The Knoxville, TN driver bested nearly fifty of the top drivers in iRacing for his third win of the season, this one coming at the Limaland Motorsports Park.

Cardwell started on pole for the second time in a row, but had to fight off several other drivers in a frenzied battle for the lead all race. Despite leading all but four of the races 75 laps, Cardwell still had to battle slidejobs from Alex Bergeron, Dylonn Fox, and a bottom-charging Virgil Graham early on.

After fending off these challengers, including a last ditch effort by Dylonn Fox for the lead gone wrong, Cardwell came out on top for his third win of the season in dramatic fashion. He was followed to the finish by Bergeron, who rebounded nicely from engine troubles last week at Williams Grove, and fifth-starting Fox, whos last ditch effort for the lead with five to go sent him into the wall and cost him second place.

Notes:

– Odd fact of the day: All five races this season have been won by drivers with the first two letters of their last names starting with “Ca”. Could Jeremy Capron be next?

– Hayden Cardwell set quick-time on the night, which has become a recurring theme in this series. JD Brown and Virgil Graham rounded out the top three qualifiers.

– Heat Winners were Cardwell, Bergeron, Graham, and Kendal Tucker.

– The D Main was won by Blake Matjoulis, while Blake Brown took the C Main. Shane James earned the victory in the B Main.

– Dylan Houser earned quick time honors in the A Main, with a quick 12.603 lap time around the 1/4 mile track.

– Only four Hanover Wrecker service yellow flags slowed the 75 lap main event, with the first one coming on the very first lap of the race.

– Schyler Brown picked up the Dirty Grass Soul Hard Charger award after rallying from 22nd to finish 5th. Blake Brown (no relation) gets an honorable mention as well after piloting his ride from 24th to 7th.
