March 14, 2019 (ROSSBURG, OH) – Cornelius, North Carolina’s Chase Cabre charged to victory in the opening round of the 2019 Qualifying Series A from Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Cabre would have to defend against many challenges for the top spot before taking the Checker Flag of the 30 lap main event!

Austin Moore, The driver of the number 55 from Owensboro, Kentucky, would lead the field to the green flag; Moore quickly faded as the field went three wide into turn one.

The first of 3 cautions would come early in the event when Shane James would check up to avoid contact with another car causing a multi-car wreck on the backstretch of the Famed Half Mile speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.

After the restart, Blake Matjoulis and Cabre would exchange sliders for multiple laps on each end of the speedway. Cabre would out weather Matjoulis when the driver of the number #127 experienced connection issues leading to contact between him and another competitor ending his night prematurely.

Cabre would find himself again exchanging slide jobs with drivers for the lead. This time it was the Columbus, Indiana driver Jacob Fields and Shelby, North Carolina native Kevin Dedmon. The three drivers would battle remainder of the race in close quarters.

Ultimately Chase Cabre would make it to victory lane at the end of the night capturing his first win of the series placing him one step closer to the Schaeffer’s Oil Modified Touring Series. “I really think these cars are super under rated” stated Cabre in his post race interview as he referred to the on track performance of the UMP Modifieds. “They race extremely well.”

Jacob Fields finished in the runner up position. “Stressful, but a lot of fun” is how Fields would describe his night in the driver’s seat in the #007 Elite7Racing Water Truck Productions Modified.

The driver of the Dirty Grass Soul, Slide Job Ranch #22 from North Carolina, Kevin Dedmon, would finish the night in the third position. Dedmon was ecstatic when he got out of the car at the end of the feature stating “It was pretty wild!” Shane James would finish in the fourth position and Dylan Thomas would round out the top 5.

Australian driver Brenton Hobson would earn the Hard Charger Award in his efforts to finish seventh after starting in the nineteenth position.

Next week, the party continues at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg Ohio as the drivers of Series B will compete in there opening series race. The race is scheduled for 8:00 ET.
