Knoxville Iowa: The Traveling WFO Tour rolled into the historic Knoxville Day Speedway and brought 21 of the best drivers in DTR2. We thought we were going to be racing without WFO Series Promoter WFO Ice but he was able to pull into the pits at the last second.

Heat 1 kicked off with Stealth and Wheel coming from the back of the pack and both were able to find their way around Scrub for the 2 transfer spots.

In heat 2 Ice would come from the back and use the inside line to work around DK and hold him off for the win.

In heat 3 the veteran WFO 17VA would make his long awaited return to dtr2 in fine fashion by winning his heat race, and BLS_OK would be able to hold off F1yer, Sidebite, and JJ for the transfer position.

The Snicker’s Dash would kick off with Stealth on the point. Ice would once again use the bottom line to get around for the lead and would be able to hold off Stealth and Wheel for the win. Stealth would come in 2nd, Wheel 3rd, OK 4th, 17Va and DK would round out the field.

B1 would be a dogfight. Scrub would run away with the win but the battle for the final transfer spot would be a classic. Coming into the last corner JJ would have the spot with Blaze to his outside and F1yer right behind him.

JJ would run up the track to attempt a slide job to guarantee the spot but would clip Blaze’s nose causing him to get sideways and F1yer to spin him out. After the race it was determined that JJ would lose the spot and F1yer would move into the final transfer spot.

B2 wouldn’t see quite the excitement as Sidebite would take off from the start and never look back. Doit 18 was able to hold off Bob for the last transfer spot of the night.

With the 13,912 fans on their feet, WFO Ice would lead the all-star to the green flag. Ice would quickly establish himself on the bottom with Stealth riding on the top side and Wheel following to see which line was going to be the fastest.

On lap 6 OK would get into the left rear of 17Va and send him into the infield. Va would shoot back across the track and F1yer would collect him causing them both to go to the back of the field.

By lap 8 the battle for the lead would intensify with Wheel, Ice, and Stealth swapping the lead. Stealth would get sideways coming out of turn 2 on lap 12 and he would lose about half a second to the leaders.

17Va would get back to the pack and would get around Doit18, Sidebite and Scrub. By lap 20 Ice and Wheel would start swapping the lead every corner. Wheel would get the drive coming out of turn 2 and Ice would keep it on the bottom in turns three and four and Wheel was able to pull to the inside of him down the straight.

With their constant battling Stealth was able to start closing the distance and by lap 28 he was right back in the thick of things.  Coming down to the white flag, Ice would have the inside position on Wheel going into turns one and two, and was able to keep it glued to the bottom of the track forcing Wheel to either go to the top or go through the grass.

Wheel would stay right on the back bumper of Ice going into turns three and four causing Ice to get a little sideways. However, Wheel would let off allowing Ice to catch it and drive home for the win. Wheel would come home a close 2nd with Stealth right there for 3rd.

BLS_DK would run a clean race and grab 4th, and 17Va would battle back for a top 5 finish. BLS_OK would bring home 6th and Scrub, F1yer, Sidebite, and Doit 18 would round out the field.

After the race we caught up with the Ice~Fighter and asked him what he thought of the racing. “To tell you the truth I thought I was a goner on that last turn."

Wheel showed a lot of class letting me to catch the car. The server was a bit off tonight which caused some contact that otherwise would not be there, but all and all it was a great race with Wheel and Stealth.”

VLR Wheel was abit more somber at his trailer. “Man Ice drove a good race and blocked me there at the end. I wish I would have just gone high and used the momentum to get around on the high side, but he drove a smart race and came away with the win.”

BLS_OK was at 17Va’s trailer. Ok said, “Man I got into ya and I just wanted to come down and say sorry.”

Which 17Va replied “No worries man I was just happy to be racing again. I had a good run and ended up with a top 5.”

Remember to come out next week as The WFO Tour goes to the Nation’s Capitol to run Capitol City V2. Hope to see you all there!!!
