Washington D.C.: The Traveling WFO Tour rolled 21 haulers into the nation’s capital this week to run the ultra tight Capital Speedway V2.

Heat 1 kicked off with points leader Stealth coming from the back to get up to 3rd before an accident sent him to the rear of the field. JJ and DK would run 1-2 the last 7 laps to transfer to the “A”.

Heat 2 would see 17Va start on the pole and never look back and Zombie would stay glued to his bumper. Ice would be involved in an accident and work his way back to 3rd.

In heat 3 F1yer would make a charge from the back but fall just short by finishing 3rd. Scrub and Rain would advance to the “A” Main.

The Snicker’s Dash would see JJ start on the pole and would lead all 8 laps. 17Va would come in 2nd with DK a close 3rd. Zombie, Rain, and Scrub would round out the field.

In B1 F1yer would find the top groove and hold off a hard charging Wheel to win the “B” and Wheel would grab the final transfer spot.

B2 would see Ice start on the pole and never look back as Stealth would fight back from the 6th spot to grab the last transfer position of the night.  The sell-out crowd of 9,587 fans were able to witness one of the most star studded races of the season as JJ and 17Va would lead 10 of the best drivers around out of turn 4.

JJ would quickly grab the lead as the field would start to do battle.  JJ, 17Va, Zombie, and DK would jump out on the field battling for the 1st 7 laps. JJ would get loose in turn on lap 8 sending him spinning off the track and making it a 3 way battle for the lead.

Meanwhile back in the field F1yer was methodically making his way to the front using the bottom of the track to make his moves and moving up to 5th. Up front the lead was changing every lap which was keeping them from breaking away from the field. On lap 11 17Va would grab the lead but the pack lead by Stealth and F1yer would be right there with them making it a 7 car battle for the lead.

On lap 14 Stealth would try to get around D*K* and was able to get a nose to his inside quarter-panel nudging him up the track in turn 3n4 and pull him down the straight. DK would try to keep his car as low as possible going into turn 1. F1yer would then try to get under DK making slight contact as DK would turn into Stealth sending DK around.

Stealth would lead this pack of 6 cars up to the leaders as 17Va and JJ as they continued to do battle up front. Lap 17 Ice would get to the rear of F1yer and push him around Stealth and they would continue to work together to get to the lead. Once there Ice looked content to push F1 and try to extend their lead over 3rd place.

JJ, Wheel and Stealth would swap the 3rd position several times between lap 24 and 35. F1yer would move to the middle/top groove on the track giving Ice the bottom in the final 10 laps of the race. Lap 32 Ice would get up to F1yer’s door but was unable to make the pass for the lead.

F1yer was able to keep the momentum on the high side and motor home for his 2nd win in the WFO Series. Ice would come in a close 2nd and JJ would win the battle for 3rd. Wheel would motor home in 4th with Stealth rounding out the top 5. Rain would finish 6th, 17Va 7th.

DK would limp home in 8th. Scrub and Zombie would come home 9th and 10th.After the race F1yer tried to do a Carl Edwards back flip off the car but landed on Zombie who had come over to victory lane to congratulate his teammate. Which made for an awkward photo?

F1yer was excited after he dusted himself off “Man that was an awesome race. I was patient coming through the field and was just working the bottom of the track. Got to the front and Ice pushed me the rest of the way through then I moved to the top side and was able to keep it rolling on the high side. I knew Ice was right there and any mistake he would take advantage of it. He showed his nose a couple of times but couldn’t get the run on the bottom."

Catching up to Ice after the race he said "Man that race was WILD!!! After about 10 laps I was able to get to F1’s bumper and just push him up through the field. I thought I would have something for him at the end but he was just to strong on the top side.”

Come join us next week as The Traveling WFO Tour goes to Terre Haute, Indiana in what has been a very exciting race in seasons past.
